WWDC is the platform where Apple unveils significant updates to its suite of operating systems, so we can look forward to presentations on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, MacOS 15, WatchOS 11, tvOS 18, and VisionOS 2.0.
This event is a crucial gathering for developers, offering them direct interaction with Apple experts and showcasing the latest tools and features designed to inspire the creation of new applications within the Apple ecosystem.
“We’re so excited to connect with developers from around the world for an extraordinary week of technology and community at WWDC24. WWDC is all about sharing new ideas and providing our amazing developers with innovative tools and resources to help them make something even more wonderful,” stated Susan Prescott, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Developer Relations.
This year’s WWDC holds the promise of an additional focus, particularly on Apple’s foray into AI. While entities like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google have already been integrating generative AI into their offerings, Apple appears to have been slower to enter this innovative field.
In an effort to bridge this gap, it’s reported that Apple has dedicated resources to developing proprietary AI technology for incorporation into the next iPhone iteration and other devices. Expected highlights at WWDC include AI-enhanced features for Apple Music and a significant, highly anticipated update for Siri, aiming to modernize and improve its functionality.

This initiative has already materialized, with a channel live on YouTube showcasing all the videos from WWDC 2023. As WWDC 2024 approaches this June, attendees can look forward to accessing this year’s conference videos on YouTube as well. These sessions will continue to be available through the Apple Developer website and app, ensuring widespread accessibility.
In a move to enhance its AI capabilities, Apple is reportedly in discussions to collaborate with an external partner, with speculations pointing towards Google for integrating Gemini-powered AI features into the iPhone. Additionally, Apple’s acquisition of a Canadian startup, DarwinAI, indicates a strategic push towards developing AI systems that are both more compact and efficient, signaling a significant step forward in Apple’s AI integration efforts.
