YouTube Music has unveiled an innovative addition to its repertoire with the official launch a hum to search, a feature that enhances user interaction by allowing searches through musical sounds. This capability is part of YouTube Music’s ongoing efforts to expand its functionality and provide a more immersive experience for its users.
YouTube Music introduced hum to search in US
The newly introduced sound search feature offers a straightforward and intuitive method for querying YouTube Music’s extensive catalog, which boasts over 100 million official songs. Users can now find music by simply singing, humming, or playing a snippet of a tune. This functionality was briefly accessible to some users in May but was later withdrawn temporarily for undisclosed reasons.
Now, it’s back and fully operational.
How to use it: To use this feature, subscribers need only to tap the magnifying glass icon located in the top-right corner of the YouTube Music app. This action reveals a waveform button adjacent to the existing microphone icon used for voice searches. Tapping this button launches a full-screen user interface where users can vocalize or play the song they wish to identify. The search process is impressively swift, displaying results that include cover art, song name, artist details, album information, release year, and download status, along with options to play the song or save it to their library.
This feature is being rolled out to both Android and iOS users of YouTube Music starting today.,
New YouTube update features you shouldn’t miss
In addition to the sound search, YouTube Music is also pioneering a trial for a unique “AI-generated conversational radio” feature, exclusively for its Premium subscribers in the U.S. This experimental service allows users to create personalized radio stations by simply describing the kind of music they wish to hear. By accessing the “Ask for music any way you like” card in their Home feed, users engage with a chat-based interface where they can input musical requests directly or choose from suggested prompts. The responses tailor the music played to the user’s specific tastes and preferences.
This cutting-edge experiment is set to expand, promising to bring enhanced customizability and interactivity to even more YouTube Music users in the near future. Both the sound search and the AI-generated conversational radio underscore YouTube Music’s commitment to using advanced technology to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
