The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially revealed earlier this month, with its release date and price still undisclosed. Recent leaks have provided insights into both aspects for the upcoming handheld/home console hybrid.
Nintendo Switch 2 release date and pricing details
According to Finnish video game retailer Konsolinet, the latest leak points to a launch date of May 9, 2025. This date appears logical as it falls on a Friday, a traditional release day for new video games, and will follow hands-on experiences with the console scheduled for April.
On the pricing front, Italian retailer Gamesandmovies.it has set a pre-order price for the Nintendo Switch 2 at €364.99, which converts to approximately $380. This suggests that the console might be priced around $399 in the U.S. This pricing news contrasts with earlier speculative estimates, which placed the console’s price between $449 and $499, with rumors of a $500 version potentially bundled with Mario Kart 9.
